Frequently Asked Questions

If you have a question that is not here, please email it in, and I can add it
to this list.

1. Carpets get dirty twice as fast after cleaning!  Right?
Only if you decide to call a company that doesn't use our methods.

2. What type of equipment/methods do you use?
We use a Prochem 25hp "Peak" truckmounted system.  It literally blows the socks off anything any of our local competitors use.  Our truckmount delivers up to 230degrees water and extracts with over 405 CFM.  It is the most powerful steam cleaning equipment in the world.

3. Where are you from?
Our Workshop is in Beautiful Meaford Ontario!  We can service anyone from Wiarton to Wasaga beach following the Georgian bay shoreline!  (Minimums apply)

4. What is the best way to get a price for cleaning?
The quickest way to figure out your cost, is to take a quick walk around your house, or areas to be cleaned, and jot down the approximate size of the carpeted rooms, the hallways, steps, and any furniture to be cleaned.  Then simply telephone us with your room sizes and we can work it out for you.  One other option, we are willing to come to your home and do an on-site, no obligation estimate that would be perfectly accurate.  Some factors can be determined this way to bring down the price for you, such as condition of carpet, size of job, amount of furniture to move and so on.  I always try to work out the best deal I can for you.  Consumers tend to overestimate on the actual square footage of carpet area to be cleaned, which makes me hesitate to just simply quote on a square footage number based on the entire size of your home.  We charge fairly, and only charge for areas that are to be cleaned when measuring up square footage.

5. How long does it take to dry?
Carpets that I clean usually are fully dry within 4-6 hours.  It could take a little longer if it
is a rainy day, or if the carpets were heavily soiled and needed a more intense cleaning.  Please allow some extra drying time if we applied Scotchgard as well.  I can advise you about how to optimize your drying conditions when on site.

6. Will the chemicals you use harm my pets?
The professional cleaning products I use are completely safe for pets and people.  Also, my flush extraction methods are so good, there is absoloutely no residue left behind when I am done, so if you are allergic to soaps of any kind, fear not! Let me know ahead of time and I'll make sure not to use any spotters or stronger cleaning agents.  We can clean using only the "soap-free" all-natural green cleaners.

7. How long will it take you to clean?
Depending on the size of the job of course, furniture takes much more time than carpets to clean.  Usually about an hour for every 100 dollars worth of cleaning is a pretty close guess.

8. What do I have to do to prepare for your arrival?
Technically, you are not required to do anything, but moving some of the smaller things out of the room would help a great deal for me to focus on your carpets, instead of moving all your stuff out of the room. :)   Pre-vacuuming would also be greatly
appreciated to save time, and allow me to get right to the reason I'm there, cleaning
the carpets.  Small tables, plants, ornaments and anything that can be easily moved, but leave the large furniture where it is, I can slide it around fairly easily.

9. Do I need to be there when you Clean?
No need whatsoever, I actually prefer to be left on my own to keep focused.  It is completely up to you .  We are fully bondable and professional cleaners.
If you are going to be away, please leave me a cheque before you go and I will make sure the place is locked up securely when I leave.

10.  Why do area rugs need to be taken back to your shop?
Area rugs take a lot more attention and detail, the process involves a few more steps, including drying, inspections, deodorizing techniques, attention to fringework, just to name a few.  From experience we know that we can do a far better job on cleaning your area rugs with the equipment and facilities in our shop.  Area rug cleaning rates are higher than regular broadloom in the home for this reason.  We can pick up and deliver your area rugs, or you can drop them off yourself and save the delivery charge.

11. Why would I need a carpet cleaner? I have hardwood floors!
If you have hard flooring, there are still a lot of things I can do for you.  Remember, I
am an expert upholstery and leather furniture cleaner, and most hard floors have area rugs.  Also dont forget about the car or even your drapes!

12. I saw an ad from another carpet cleaner who was cheaper than you. So why would I want your services instead of theirs?
If lowest price is all that matters and quality work is of little importance, then by all means please call the cheap guys, they will give you exactly that.   Our pricing is competitive with all high quality cleaners, and we will even back it up with a price guarentee as follows:  We will beat any certified cleaner's price by 10%  Certified? Yes, certified means they have actually gone to trade school and trained for this.  We do not compare our services to untrained personel that advertise lowball pricing to get in the door, then do the old "bait and switch" routine and end up charging you more than we ever would.  If you decide to go with the "cheap guy" then dont say you werent warned.  We will be here when you need to fix the mess they make. :)

13. What kind of guarentee is there?
Satisfaction is 100% guarenteed as follows:
If you are not completely satisfied with the cleaning we will return and re-clean all areas for free.  If you are STILL not satisfied, we will refund all of your monies paid.

Stains that are particularily tough to remove and definitely cannot be guarenteed are:

-Cool aid, or any drinks that contain food coloring.
-Heavy traffic stains that have been left too long.
-Coffee stains
-Cotton Fabric that is stained
-Water Damage stains
-Ink stains

Yes, there are products availiable that claim they can remove these stains, but to date, I have not found one that works.

Remember: The longer you let your carpets go without cleaning, the harder they are to get clean.  If you havent had your carpets cleaned in years, You can expect a significant improvement, but don't expect them to come out looking brand new!

14.  There are still dark areas on the carpet! Should they be cleaned again? If I cleaned your carpets and you see some dark patches, particularily in hallways or high traffic areas, they are most likely either permanent traffic stains, which I went over several times, scrubbed and used everything in my arsenal to remove, or they are "wear areas" where the carpet fibres are now shorter than the rest of the carpet.  The light does not reflect off these areas at the same angle as the surrounding carpet and creates the illusion of a darker area.  This is called "pooling and shading" and nothing will fix this unless you get new carpet, or put a mat or runner over it.

15.
How often should I clean my carpets?
A popular misconception among most people is that you dont need to clean your carpets very often, but check your warranty on any carpet you may have purchased and you will see that the recommendation is at least once per year by a trained professional in order to keep your warranty VALID.   Maintenance is the key to making your carpet last and stay beautiful.

16.
I am on a tight budget.  I want your quality service, but how can I keep the price as low as possible for what I need done?
If offering discounts in advertising affected how many people call and book jobs with us, I would offer them all the time, but most people book jobs with us because they want it done and they know we are the ones that are going to do an exceptional job.
There are however, some ways you can get a discount:

1. Move out all the furniture.  All of it, not MOST of it.  Empty houses or rooms that are being cleaned that are completely devoid of furniture automatically receive a discounted rate!  A Substantial discount!

2. Pay in cash, in advance.  We will usually round off the amount in your favor, plus pay the tax for you. (We still report the income and  pay the government their dues mr taxman!)  For example, if the true bills comes up to 169.87  I might make it 160 even.

3. Quantity discounts.  The pricing is tiered according to quantity.  For example, there is a price drop at 500 sqft.  If your job is 450 sq ft, you may want to consider adding one more room or area to hit the next tier for a significant price drop!  We will advise you of this if you are close to the next tier.

4. Watch for the occasional coupon in the paper.  They dont come very often, but sometimes... well.. you just never know!

5. Anyone that submits a written testimonial for us is sent a $20 gift voucher for any of our services.  Limit 1 per customer.
